Does ASM tell the story of him signing the hero registration act and PPSM tell of what happens after?
Answer:
They are different books by different creative teams (Writers, artists, inkers, eg.) However, they do share a solid story of what happened with Spiderman during Civil War. They just focus of differnt aspects of the story as a whole. They all mention him signing the Registration Act. I personally found ASM to have the best storyline.
After Civil War, Aunt May got shot and Peter parker made a deal with Mephisto to save her. That erased his marriage to Mary Jane and made everyone forget that he publically unmasked. The story blew chunks. You can wikipedia Brand New Day if you want to know more.
